Last Sunday, while cleaning and arranging things in our house I turn my radio on. Since we just moved in to a new house and things were (or still are) a mess, the TV external antenna isn’t set up yet. The only items that were put in place were, the bed, dresses, tables, and this computer so I can blog and surf the net (lol). So I have to rely on my old radio for a musical background while working.

While working, I was unaware that I was singing with the radio. And a couple of times, I was even dancing (or jumping at least) to the songs. Hey! Who wouldn’t dance to Kenny Logins’ Footloose. Yes! They were playing song from my years! Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran (the band so good, they named it twice), Cindy Lauper, Vintage Madonna, Kenny Logins and more! The 80’s! The Psychedelic, the bands (it was a time when boybands really play instruments), strut and breakdance songs and what have you! They even played Head Over Heels by my favorite band Tears For Fears!

It sure brings back nostalgic memories… when songs were songs (and not ramblings with melodies). Like most people, Sheena Easton’s song Telephone would bring memories of Glaiza Heradura, the first ever Little Miss Philippines of Eat Bulaga (although some might be reminded of Pops Fernandez more, lol). The Bagets days… hairgelsBaston pants… bogartsSpeedo and more!

And you know what’s the best part of this Sunday radio experience? There were no DJ’s! Just music from my era continuously playing. Don’t get me wrong, but if I want to listen to somebody talk, I would tune in to a talk show, and besides who would want to hear all those greetings on the radio? Not me.

Thanks to Sunday radio, I was able to travel back in time and reminisce… I love the music of the 80’s!

I love Sunday radio too because usually they air wonderful , old songs from past hits. It is like going down memory lane and reminiscing the good old days.

Hehehe…naalala ko tuloy yung mga taong iyon. Mas magaganda talaga ng mga kanta noon kaysa ngayon.
