Can we really trust these people?
Posted by: Roy in Reflections, thought & opinions, tags: criminals, milf, news, senseless killings, terroristAs talks between the government and the MILF were ongoing, the treacherous groups killed 26 people in Lanao del Norte. This coming from a group who refused to call themselves as terrorist? I wonder why do the government even trust them. They are not really after any truce, peace, negotiotiation or any agreement at all. Give them a hand and they will take the whole arm.
This is nothing new in the Philippines, as there were efforts in the past by the government to meet rebels halfway, all for the sake of peace. And while peace talks negotiations were ongoing, a small group which would later be branded as breakaway group would be crawling and wreck havoc, killing innocent civilians, to the surprise of the government.
This has always been the case, and like I said they will later be denied as part of them or tag them as breakaway group and not really their responsibility. Why do we allow them to play their games on us?
Time and again, events like these have proven that these people cannot be really trusted. These are not rebels, because rebels has a cause, a purpose, a mission. Senseless killings of civilians are not the act of a rebel, it is the act of mindless criminals whose sole purpose of existence is to create hell on earth.
I do hope that after this recent event, the government will never be as gullible to believe to meet these criminals halfway, less there’ll be more civilian victims.

The Philippine Government should go after these people even if an actual peace takes place.
