Another case of abusive government officials

I actually first saw the story on Reyna Elena Blog SantaCruzan.
But somehow, another link sent me to the Vicissitude blog and Bambee’s entry regarding their family’s nightmare in a golf course in Antipolo. A nightmare that was brought to them by the Mayor of Masiu City, Lanao del Sur, Nasser Pangandaman Jr., and his father, Secretary of Agrarian Reform Nasser Pangandaman.
These two men, together with their company (if you’re picturing a group of goons cum bodyguard surrounding these two guys, we’re on the same page), beat Bambee’s 56-year old father and her 14-year old brother. And for what? For a simple misunderstanding on the golf course.
Right there in the middle of the golf course, and by the entry in Vicissitude’s blog, they had no qualms doing it. And just like we see in the movies, the altercation did not end without abusive words and threat from the powers that be.
Maybe I don’t play golf and I may not understand the implications brought about by the misunderstanding, but to beat another person to pulp (with the help of your cohorts) I believe is really uncalled for, especially from a (supposed to be) respectable government officials.
These people are the very reason why I no longer trust government officials, they are the reason why I don’t have respect for people like them, and yes, I speak in general terms.
Perhaps, it is only incidental that the aggrieved party here is a fellow blogger, that’s why we’re sounding it of to support her. But we all know that this is not an isolated case, and definitely not a rare occurrence.
These kind of people are all around us… and since these are the very people who are supposed to help, protect and serve us…
Where else can we go then?

this mayor with the warlord mentality needs to be deported back to afghanistan to be with the rest of the warlords. he is so bugok to be a role model. he should be kicked out of his job. not a public servant of any kind, but a public vandal and public salot.
nakakatakot Reynz. we know that this is not a rare case. lot’s of officials have this kind of attitude. they want to be beholden and revered upon.
sa UFC octagon not Golf course ang dapat sa mga ethnic tribu na mga Pangandaman na iyan! sa UFC sana sila nagpaka-MACHO without their 15-30th payroll bodyguards!!!
They buy votes with goons and guns to win. so they walk around in their locality like everyone else is their godang subjects! there could be more and worse cases from their Lanao provinsiano subjects than what happened to the elite golfers of this kingdom. they ought to be barred from places where they can’t control their local warlike ethnic culture. madali lng naman iyan i-screen: listen to their diction. matigas na tagalog. second screen: mas matigas na tagalog ang mga bodyguards niyan. PWEH!

The punisher will come… they will be doomed.
Another muslim warlord and fanatic of violence. Dapat kapunin ang mga yan para mawala pagmacho nila. Pero walang mangyayari kasi parang kay Raul Gonzales, mga song ulol ni gloria mga yan. Pag malalaking drug lords pinalalaya basta malaki lagay sa DOJ at Bureau of Immigration.
The Pangandamans just became golf fanatics after Nasser Pangandaman Sr. became Agrarian Reform Secretary.
Is DAR and Golf Courses related to one another ? Absolutely Yes, GOLF COURSES needs the approval of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary whenever they apply for Land Conversion from Agricultural use to Commercial or Mixed Use. A golf course needs to be converted from agricultural to commercial or mixed use, or else they will violate the Agrarian Reform Law.
Only DAR Secretary approves Land Conversion and my source from DAR grapevine, conversion application at DAR is truly bloody.
Bloody in what sense? these DAR officials demand bribe of ?$? per square meter before a conversion application is approved or they demand exclusive shares and club memebership rights from these golf courses.
Just an example, if one is applying for Land Conversion of a 50-hectare land Golf Course, then an applicant will probably shell out around Php 1,000,000 million pesos, a bribe money @ 2 pesos per square meter, this is the lowest and could go higher as mush as 5 pesos per square meter.
What a lucrative business of DAR executives, and their bag man, their own Provincial Agrarian Reform Officers (PARO) in the City and Priovincial levels.
No doubt that DAR Secretary Nasser Pangandaman is frequenting Exclusive Golf Courses.
I am not saying that he is corrupt and demanding bribe from Golf Course Companies seeking Land Conversions. He may have been a Golf fanatic upon stepping at the doors of DAR, and most likely have purchased Club Membership at a generous price from generous Land Conversion Applicants.
Golf is a game of the rich and famous, no doubt for Dela Paz family as they have known business (fishpond) to support their golfing hobbies.
What about the Pangandamans ? unless they prove to the Filipino people that they have legitimate businesses, then I would believe that they have the right to play Golf.
Ombudsman Mereditas Gutierez, please take a look at the Statement of Assests, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) of Nasser Sr. and Jr., they should prove that their means of livelihood could support their golfing hobby.
I could not imagine a high ranking government official involved in a Brawling Incident and the fight is 6 (Pangandamans) versus 2 (Dela Paz), what a shame…..is this a government ruled by men and not by Law ?
This Pangandaman guy should be ashamed of himself…He only gives a bad name for his city. For sure people from his city are ashamed of him…
This comes as no surprise to me that such a barbaric act would be perpetrated by this “person”… It is an open “secret” that most (if not all) politicians are downright corrupt, greedy, and/or power hungry bastards. It becomes even worse for Muslim politicians.
I know what these bastards are like coz’ I live here in Mindanao where most of these S*$t for brains retards are. They prance around with an attitude problem, wanting to be the biggest and baddest cock in the hen house but the problem is they can not back their bad attitude, they prefer to gang up on poor helpless boys and 56 year old men that can not fight back.
Secretary Pangandaman is typical of the worst type of politician… the one with the tyrannical warlord mentality. I hope that he and the rest of his ilk burn in the fires of hell… forever!
These bastards including their ruthless , uncouth bodyguards which are paid by the filipino citizens by the way…should be battered as well until to their deaths .IT’S PAY OFF TIME !!
These MOROS should be made to pay. Duwag ang mga yan in an even battle. Puro lang intimidation ang alam pero ma korner mo pati Nanay nila ibebenta.
