Why is this TV commercial bothering me?

This is not the first time I have posted about commercials.
The first one I have written was way back 2004 which I called Commercial Muna, I still don’t have a blog then.
A recent one takes on a commercial telling how real men should act.
Another one is where I discussed different Unsafe TV advertisements, which was also featured in Jena Isle’s call for eradication of violence on TV as guest post in her campaign.
Why am I taking on TV commercials?
Because they hide on false presentations of values, distorting them even… just to be able to justify their ads and make a point… of sale.
As I am always saying… violence isn’t the only thing which can poison our children’s minds.

I don’t get it. I don’t see anything questionable about this commercial. It does not distort values or has anything violent in it. It is a commercial that is targeting a particular market niche which is the affluent people. If there are people who cannot afford to buy the Red Ribbon cakes and pastries because of poverty, they should never be offended by commercials like these. It is the reality of life that there are affluent people and there are poor people. Advertisers could not be faulted for that. You should have been more particular with what you are objecting to in this particular TV ad. No offense meant Roy but I was kind of perplexed by your post. Thank you very much for your post. “…violence isn’t the only thing which can poison our children’s minds.” There’s the key to what you find offensive to this add. I find it less offensive. A matter of degree.
Perhaps because the ad was sleek and technically well made. Those admen pulled out all stops in making this very attractive. I guess it tries to foist on young minds it’s cool feasting on unhealthy food. That parental love can be equated with large helpings of cakes and pastries. Which makes the ad uncool.
I’m an adult. Bring me the stuff and I’d engorge myself. I can take care of myself. But the impressionable minds of children? There goes the danger.
I find your sentiment valid, Roy. That’s a cause for concern indeed.
