Pampanga governor, Among Ed Panlilio to seek presidency

What was the news about? I knew you guess it by the title of this blog.
The news flash said Governor Ed Panlilio of Pampanga will run for president in the coming 2010 election.
Although I am half-expecting it since he won as governor of Pampanga in the last election, I was still surprised that it really happened.
I am from Pampanga, Angeles City to be exact. I am having mixed reactions on this announcement. In fact, I had this feeling when Among Ed was running for the position of government in Pampanga, but in the absence of a better candidate then, he appears to be the only choice. And another thing, Angeles City voters don’t vote for the governor position.
Among Ed though, according to the news flash, is still waiting for the signs before he finalizes his decisions. He said it will depend on the public’s clamor for him to run, which I believe will now pour in after hearing the announcement.
Malacañang welcomed the announcement saying that it would be better because the Filipinos will have more choices in the coming 2010 election. They still don’t have any standard bearer though.
Among Ed even have a running mate in mind.
We all know how his governance in Pampanga is always disturbed by protests left and right, not that he really caused them, but would the same scenario be seen should he win the presidency?
It’s too early. I still don’t know, being a Kapampangan, whether I will support this decision or not. Just like Among Ed… I’m also waiting for the signs.

Seriously, I am not inclined to vote this coming elections…
There is too much dust, too much PR gimicks etc. We need solid reforms here.
However, I have become tired of choosing bad apples from a bunch of bad apples.
In regards to Panlilio candidacy, he sounds quite promising for the people. But still, I will abstain my vote this elections.
I think, honesty is very good basis in being a good public servant, and Fr. Ed has this. Kaya lang naman galit ang iba dahil hindi nila magawa ang mga dating nilang ginagawa.kung ano man iyon, ay bahala na sila.
i will definitely cote and campaign for him as what i did last 2007. count my vote among ed. a dream may come to reality
Will definitely vote for Among Ed for President. Genesis, I am also a Kapampangan, people like you are definitely like Mayor Pelayo and Vice Gov. Guiao, who did not succeed in corrupting Among Ed. If you know Mayor Pelayo and Vice Gov. Guiao (and I’m sure you do) tell them, to leave some honor to the Kapampangans by not telling all the lies they can imagine.

Genesis are you blind? We need good governance here, and Among Ed is the only qualified candidate for Presidency. The buwaya’s are pulling him down …why? kasi hindi sila makaka-kurakot. Yang mga SP & Mayors….if I know bayad yan! During the election….there are several black propagandas dito sa Arayat. Ibang klase, may mga fake sunstar newspaper na kumalat dito (a write up against Among) and guess what sino ang ngbibigay ng newspaper….mga NAG JJUETENG!
Last night, I watched CLTV 36, I can’t believed what Rosvie Henson just said that Pampanga is now Anti- Panlilio…..cguro sa kanila dahil hindi maka-ubra. Iba talaga ang mga TRAPOS….kung sino gumagawa ng mabuti pilit nilang bibigyan ng kaso na wala nmang basehan. Why during the time of Mark Lapid???? Nasaan yang mga yan!!!! Sorry to say but SALUDO ako sa pamamahal ni Among Ed!!!

All the way supportado ako kay among ed, sana magicing na ang mga pilipino lalo na mga mhihirap wag mkontento sa 500 piso o 1000 libo na ang kapalit ay isa namumuno ay gahaman at walang takot sa Diyos. sana po mag sama sama tyo na iboto c among ed para sa magandang kinubukasan ang ating mga kabataan sa larangan ng magandang edukasyon at pangkalusugan lalo na pra sa kababayang mhirap. piliin na po ntin ang may takot sa Diyos, dhil ang may takot sa Diyos may pagmamahal sa knyang bayan. hindi po ako katoliko pero iboboto ko sya dahil may pagmamahal ako sa akin bansa.
I like this guy, very honest. Ang problema malamang hindi siya makahatak ng boto kasi kulang siya sa koneksyon. Let’s face it, popularity vote dito sa Pinas.
I truly believe Among Ed could deliver the reforms this country needs. Withy machinery or not I would still vote for Among Ed, lets not discount the fact that a lot of well informed youth’s could make a difference.

Among ED for president, siguro si Grace Padaca for vice. What we need are not highly intelligent people, mga taong me puso lamang at walang mga pinagkakautangan maliban sa mga tao. I hope somebody launches a campaign to raise funds for their candidacy nang sa ganoon no string attached sa mga contributors.
It’s too early yet to comment on wether Among Ed will make a good candidate. Or a good President for the Republic, Ang Pilipinas nating mahal. But who is?
Will Noli de Castro do? Manny Villar? Mar Roxas? Ping Lacson? Loren Legarda?
All traditional politicians who will promise reforms as their political agenda will merits, para sa ikauunlad ng bayan. Totoo o hindi? Kayo ang sumagot.
I am half-Tagalog/half-Pampango, but I will vote for the right person. Conscience-wise or not.
It’s too early yet to comment nung magcilbi yang pantapat i Among Ed karing tradpols who will promise reforms for our country sa darating na mga panahon. Pero meroon ba tayong pagpipilian?
I am still studying Ed Panlilio. I have been abroad for years and am not updated with Phil politics. I just came off the campaign trail for Obama and still part of his volunteer army to push for reforms.
While I DISagree with many of those cynics here including one who says he wants change but will not vote (it is perfectly understandable but perfectly incorrect and completely saddening.) , I do sympathize with their concerns about nothing changing. change is always a hard sell. as i came to realize the hard way when we were phone banking for obama. the phone banging in your ears is quite educational but we MOVED ON and finally elected Obama.
The reason that Obama won was this: he repeatedly said YES WE CAN and he repeatedly reminded his supporters that support for him will CONTINUE, not END but CONTINUE when he is elected. I suggest that Panlilio if he runs do the same. Also the internet can help a lot and EVEN if many still do not have internet access, I think that a a critical mass of middle class, dedicated Panlilio advocates can pull this one off the same way a dedicated mass of marchers back in the 80s toppled Mr Marcos there and for good reason. texyt messaging and landline banking may also work, it can be done.
Now, marches are passe and demos should only be done for media effect in my opinion and if the digital rev can be ignited to elect a new man, a non trapo in malacanang, i am voluntering myself to be part of that campaign but only digitally since I am 10,000 miles away. I have lots to share from the “improbable” rise to power of an “obscure” man like Obama to the Presidency. there is a method to all this.
I disagree with the naysayers that elections change nothing. in fact, an election coupled with a commited volunteer army, keyword committed will overturn many things thought to be already there and unchangeable. there is no such thing as “unchangeable” its a matter of perception.
perception can be changed and methods can be tweaked to the unpredictable. predictable methods produce predictable results and predictable counter responses from the trapo crowd. so change them.
thank you for putting up this blog, Roy. Pinoy’s intelligence is self-evident, it is an untappped resource. btw, I am NOT endorsing Panlilio YET. I am still studying him thru Google and other sources. I do not belive in newspapers and pundits. they are usually wrong like they were wrong about Obama.

ASLAG(LIWANAG). si among Gov. kung matatawag pa po natin syang “among” kapag tumakbo sya bilang presidente ng bayan ay malaking kawalan sa kaparia. si among Ed dahil sa kabutihan at kahusayan nya bilang pari ay napamahal at pinagmamalaki ng huli nyang parokya, ang Betis, kung saan nagkaroon ako ng pagkakataon na maglingkod kasama nya. marahil nagdadalawang isip ang karamihan sa dahilang maaring lamunin ng dilim ng politika ang liwanag ng kanyang kalooban. pero hindi ba’t sa kadahilanan ding yon kaya natin sya pinili? ginising nya ang pagasa na tayo’y hindi kailangang mangapa sa dilim. tayo ay may sariling ilaw din. sapat na ang kanyang ilaw dahil ito’y may kapangyarihang gumising.
I do believe that Among Ed Panlilio possesses the basic characteristics of a good leader, i.e., love for the people, honesty to serve, will to lead, hope for a better dream. He might be “undergog” by now as a presidentiable but at the end, people will be triumphant by putting him as the next president. If you believe in CHANGE…..vote for Among Ed Panlilio for President.
For the critiques, you plan well what you say and do for your very own actions will do more favor to Among Ed Panlilio than harm. You are already succumbed to the hell of selfishness in the guise of being good. May the wind of change and facts of the Philippine history enlightens you before the roar of thunder brings you wrath…..

Base sa aking opinyon. Among Ed for President ? “bakit po hindi?” Totoo na kailangan natin ang isang tapat na mamumuno sa nalugmok nating bansa. Sa lahat ng tatakbo sa pagka pangulo siya lamang ang nakikita kong may tapat na layunin na mag lingkod para sa ating bayan, wala po naman sigurong kukuwestiyon dyan.
Ang akin lamang po, bakit po sya kakandidato bukod daw sa “Divine Call?” (cguro …). Pero ang totoo, may mga nangangako na naman po sigurong mag pi “finance” ng kanyang kanditatura. Alam naman natin na ilang BILYONG PISO ang kailangan at gugugulin ng mga kakandidato sa pagkapanguluhan. Panawagan ko po sana sa kanila (mga nangangakong tutulong pinansiyal kay Among Ed, ilaan na lang po sana nyo ang inyong pag tulong sa mga MAS NANGANGAILANGAN. Ilang SILID-ARALAN, BAHAY-AMPUNAN, DAAN-DAANG LIBONG SIKMURA RIN PO ANG ATING MAPAPAKAIN sa perang ito. BAYAAN NA PO NATIN ANG PULITIKA SA KANILA. MAS MARAMI TAYONG MATUTULUNGAN KAYSA IBIGAY NATIN SA KANDITATURA NI AMONG. Besides kung may hinahanap o hangarin po kayong kapalit sa pagtulong kay Among, alam naman nating hindi ito uubra sa kanya.
Among Ed, panawagan po please, wag na po kayong maki halo sa masamang pulitika ng ating bansa, hanggat di po nababago ang pananaw ng bawat isang bumoboto, at hanggat SOBRANG GASTOS ang kailangan sa ating pulitika, mas makabubuti pong bumalik na lang kayo sa PAGKA PARI. I blieve that Among Ed will be a good President! im not saying this because im a fellow kapampangan but because i have seen the reforms that he had implemented in Pampanga. True he is a good man but Among Ed should also consider listening to advices being made by people sorrounding him and not by only one person.
i will not have any problem voting for a religious guy if he ever runs for president. i voted for bro. eddie in the last election.
