Photobucket Blog de Manila Random Thoughts Womenagerie Tech Talk Tasha's Take Small Town Mountain Boy

Last year, I had a brief taste of the limelight when I was featured in Rated K because of the letters I’m writing to my wife. It was the very first time that I had so many visitors in my blog, all because of the TV exposure I got. Unfortunately, it was on a blog that was too personal and one that I never really wanted to be noticed.

Fortunately for me, it was a short lived fame as the unwanted attention has made me feel uneasy.

The media exposure however, didn’t really rub off to my other blogs – on the blogs that I wanted to be noticed, such as this blog… The Struggling Blogger.

And as the light faded, I reverted to the unknown, struggling blogger that I was.

The feeling of being anonymous notwithstanding, I continued to blog. Aside from a few friends who visited me from time to time, I really didn’t have any reader. It’s like I exist in a universe of my own – alone.

It was like that, until two bloggers came and visited this blog, and my other blogs as well. And they came back. I was surprised. So I followed them back.

And because of these two bloggers – who goes by the name of Jena Isle and Snow, I began to meet more bloggers… and I began to have more readers.

One of those new blogger friends did more than just visit and read my blogs, and his gesture really surprised me, especialy since I haven’t been to his blog for a quite a while. I’m referring to Reyna Elena who nominated me to this year’s Top 10 Emerging Influential Bloggers.

What makes this nomination special? It’s like the Rookie of the Year award in basketball. You only get a single shot at it. I was fortunate that I barely made it to the cut-off date, May 2008 – the very same month I started this blog.

Whether I deserve the royal anointment or not is not for me to tell. All I know is that I am very much honored of the recognition – even if it’s just a nomination. Of course, making it to the final 10 would definitely be great. A solid proof that I have accomplished something in my first year of blogging.

Throwing all hypocrisy and inhibition in the air, I’d like to say “Yes! I want to be a part of the final 10!” Like what I said, it’s a one-shot deal, hit-or-miss kind of thing. After this, it’s either you should be really good, noisy, controversial, or all of the above to get noticed… or just be one of the unnoticed dweller of a big community called the blogosphere.

While I say that I want to be part of the Top 10, there’s really nothing much I can do at my end but to practice the law of attraction. It will be decided by other bloggers who will vote for their bets… or those who may read this post and say…

“Hey! This guy sounds promising! Maybe I should give him a chance.”

So, won’t you have a single spot in your list for this struggling blogger?

He he he, nakakatawa naman iyan Roy. I know marami ang boboto sa iyo. But other bloggers should get to know you as you’ve been hiding in the nook and cranny of your blogs. It’s time to come out in the open and - magladlad- ay mali! I mean magpakilala. Parang candidato sa election. You should let your presence be known and felt by the electorate..lol…

They’ll vote for you once they get to visit your blogs. Good luck.

And yes, I’ll recommend and vote for you (together with Z, Jan and snow), watch out for it in my Random Thoughts blog.
