It seems to be that there is really no stopping the “pound-for-pound” king star from rising. This time, Manny Pacquiao made the cover of Time Magazine’s Asian Edition. Pacquiao on Time Magazine will be featuring a five-page story on him in the latest issue which will hit the US and global newsstand this weekend.

With the simple dream only of providing a better life for his family through boxing, his humble beginning has elevated to such an international status that he now joins the ranks of boxing legends Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, Sugar Ray Robinson and Mike Tyson who have graced the cover of the said magazine.

He also joins the prestigious bunch of Filipino politicians and personalities, from former President Manuel L. Quezon to actress Chin Chin Gutierrez, who were featured on the cover of Time.

“A fighter’s dream is to win a world title and gain financial stability. But what is happening to me now is the most humbling experience of my life,” Pacquiao said in his interview with Fightnews.com. In the interview, which is making its rounds online, Pacquiao said the world boxing stage has given him the chance to show the Philippines to be a “small but mighty country.”

“It is a great honor for me to be the face of my people and to let everyone know we are a small but mighty country,” he said. “I have great pride for all of the Filipinos living throughout the world and it is these people that I fight for each and every time I step into the ring.”

Pacquiao will face another challenge on November 14 in the person of Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto at Las Vegas, for the WBO welterweight title.

Here’s hoping that this ‘international accolade’ boosts his morale even further as he go and continue his winning streak… for the love of the country and the Filipino people.

Talaga? Na-meet mo na? Swerte mo naman.

Malamang tutuo yun, pangalan ng wife niya nakalagay e :)

sana nga lang wag na siya sumabak sa politics, not because I doubt his capability, kasi naman gagamitin lang siya ng may mga makasariling interest
