Other’s (especially his detractors) may see his move as “copping out,” but personally, I believe that it is wise decision that Chiz won’t run in 2010 presidential elections.

I am not really a supporter of Senator Francis Escudero, but I do acknowledge the fact that he is popular especially with the youth. But being independent (after quitting his political party), it might not be a good idea to slug it out with the big guys who has well-oiled political machineries.

Besides, if he decided to run for the president instead, it would only divide further the (already divided) opposition (to the benefit of some).

But now that he decided not to run, it could pave the way for the unification of “really” united opposition who will rally behind a single candidate who will truly help steer the country towards genuine development.

At this point though, the senator is still mum as to which candidate he would support for the president and vice president position.

Interesting. One less strident noise coming from one presidential aspirant. :) How many trees do you think we’d be able to save if several more candidates withdraw from the race? Nothing - just thinking out loud. :)
