Mayweather keeps unbeaten record

That is because Top Rank promoter Bob Arum literally said goodbye to him on Christmas Eve. Manny Pacquiao will no longer face Mayweather, and he, together with Top Rank, will even sue Mayweather and Golden Boy Promotions for maligning his character.
With the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight called off, the door is now open for every boxer who wants to take a shot at the undisputed pound-for-pound king.
Meanwhile, Mayweather can keep his unbeaten record to himself.
Was it intentional on the part of Mayweather? Arum was quoted on USA Today saying, “This all has to do with Mayweather being Mayweather. He never wanted to fight Manny. He wanted a way out.”
Pacquiao said it was Mayweather’s way of running out of the fight.
Perhaps it is true. With the performances that Pacquiao has shown in his fights with Dela Hoya, Hatton and Cotto, Mayweather has every reason to fear for his unbeaten record to be tarnished.
That is why he is looking for ways to push the champ into the corner, making it appear that it was him who backed-out of the fight. Cunning, if you ask me.
The issue at hand was the drug-testing to be run on the boxers. Mayweather insisted on a stricter drug-testing to be imposed, insinuating that Pacquiao is using steroids and other performance-enhancing-drugs.
Is that his way of saying that Pacquiao is just too much for him?
Meanwhile, with the door now open, Arum is looking at Paul Malignaggi as Pacquiao’s next opponent. Other boxers in consideration are Shane Mosley, Tim Bradley, Juan Manuel Marquez, Yuri Foreman or Edwin Valero.
Arum said, whoever it may be, it’s going to be a big one. I bet it is… it is Pacquiao after all.
