Yes! It’s all over the blogosphere!

Manny Pacquiao won!

And Oscar dela Hoya proves his sportsmanship.

Once again the Filipino has something to be proud of.

Let’s just hope that our ‘leaders’ will not tarnish this new-found pride with their self-serving interests.

MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS!

Lottery is the only way someone can get rich without lifting a finger, but then you still need to go out and buy your ticket for you to have a chance. But why leave your fate to chance? When the fruits of success tastes better when you have worked for it.

Nouveau Riche is French for ‘new rich’ and many have become this - rising from rags to riches, with inspiring stories to tell of their successes. But like what I’ve been saying often, they have worked hard to get to where they are. And these are not just people who gained lots of money, but have also achieved fame, glory and respect.

There is a long list of people who have become Nouveau Riche - the great talk show host Oprah, the Silicon Valley icon Bill Gates, even the newly elected president of the US Obama can be an inspiring source of rags to riches story. But these people, and others who have successfully crossed from rags to riches, did not just sit around waiting for change to happen. They ‘made’ change happen.

You too can become Nouveau Riche - but you need to get up, flex those muscles, roll-up those sleeves and get to work. Don’t wait for things to happen, make things happen. For only a farmer who toiled long and hard on the field can expect to reap the fruit of his harvest.

I’m sure you’ve seen your Google homepage, in Filipino language, that’s not what I’m referring to.

I’m referring to the newly launched translation tool of Google, where you can translate an entire webpage to and from Filipino.

How is this a good news? Because, for one, those who are doing some research and may have some problem with other languages (yes, it’s not just English), Google will translate it for them in Filipino. In fact, you can search for a subject in Filipino, and it will search all other languages too, and brings back the result already translated in Filipino. Cool!

And if your blog is in Filipino, others can now read it too because Google will translate it to their language. Hooray! More readers for you!

Actually, I haven’t tried it yet. I just heard the buzz and I’m so excited to blog about it. I will give it a try immediately to see how it work.

If you are interested to try the tool too, click it here: Google translates in Filipino.

I wonder if it can translate in Kapampangan too?

I don’t usually blog about this show since I don’t usually follow the show. Besides, a blogger friend, Joan Joyce makes more credible posts about it. In fact, I get my updates on her blog whenever I missed a tribal council.

But last night, I made sure that I’m going to watch it just to see Marlon off the island, and so glad he did.

And now that he is gone, are we going to see a more ‘realistic’ version of the Survivor Philippines? Pardon the cynical me, but the twists and turns that he did while on the island is much too complicated to be accomplished by just a single soul.

The first time, I didn’t pay much attention to it, since it was in a place far from where I am and because I am not Buddhist. But this time, I saw it again on Yahoo buzz and it somewhat gave a different reflection to me.

No. I did not in any way become a convert. I’m still a Catholic.

But the news on the ‘Buddha Boy‘ as I read it today reminds me so much of the local scene where a child, a woman, or an old man was able to talk to the Virgin Mary, Sto. Nino, Jesus and even God The Father Himself.
