Who would have thought? I knew it had me fooled. The Transformers star Megan Fox sure looks good wearing the Wonder Woman costume. But as it turns out, it was nothing but a hoax? Or is it really?
Whatever, the site Wonder-Who.com really did a great job. As it shows an American flag being stripped part by part revealing a costumed woman behind it. Until it finally reveals Megan Fox as the Amazon warrior princess.
But as what Yahoo movies revealed, it was just a hoax. Saying that it was nothing but an accomplished Photoshop work. But it was clueless at to who were the people behind it, or what was the reason for site.
Although it referred to JoBlo.com as the website who who was able to reach to a representative from Warner Bros. and confirmed the the Wonder-Who.com site was a “complete B.S.”
Honestly, I grew up with the image of Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman etched in my mind. And I never thought any other actress fitting the costume… until the poster.
Well, hoax or not, and even after realizing that it was a very convincing Photoshop edit, Megan Fox still looks hot in the Wonder Woman costume.

It took quite a while, but I’m glad it happened in my lifetime. Vic and Dolphy, two of the country’s comedy icon, together in one movie, a hilarious one I bet. The trailers alone show great promise of lots of laughter ahead in the full movie.
Okay, I may be biased, these two are my two idols when it comes to comedy. But hey! There are not few people who doesn’t believe in these two when it comes to bringing laughter in this otherwise hard times. I grew up watching Dolphy movies. Be it John Puruntong, Facifica Falayfay, Darna Kuno or The Quick Brown Fox - he sure knows how make people laugh. So is it any wonder I am excited in this next movie of his?
Vic Sotto came with his two buddies, Tito and Joey, via Iskul Bukol and then Eat Bulaga. They made some movies together which were hilarious as well. But he became bigger when he goes solo. Enteng Kabisote became a household word. And no kid in these times doesn’t know how to chant ‘Bossing‘ a name Vic is being called by his household help in ‘Okay Ka Fairy Ko‘ which became his trademark.
Pidol and Bossing in one movie, I’ll say it’s about time. My only disappointment is that they were not bringing along their trademark character with them. Wouldn’t it be nice to have Enteng Kabisote meet John Puruntong? But who’s complaining? It’s Vic and Dolphy, Dolphy and Vic. They may not bring the character, they sure still carry the charisma, the timing, and the antics that people would love to see.
Titled ‘Dobol Trobol‘ which is very appropriate as these two test each other’s wits. Both complementing each other’s style. This movie will definitely be a big hit, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
It will be shown on August 13, so… Let’s get ready to rumble!

After being outvoted by Iron Man, we’re back at the cinema after a week. I was almost outvoted again by Speed Racer, but this time I imposed my authority on my children. Finally, I was able to watch The Forbidden Kingdom.

If it weren’t for my kids, I won’t recognize Jacky Chan as the old chap from the Chinese store. But I recognized the plot of the boy from New York (Jason played by Michael Angarano), beaten up by bullies, but in the end would be able to get back and kick their ass. Though I don’t understand how he was chosen to be the seeker who will save the Monkey King. There wasn’t enough development in his character. Too much rush to get into the action scenes I guess. I’m not complaining. I came for Jacky Chan.

The prequel to what? Well, if you watched the movie you know what I mean. But if you haven’t, let me finish first or else I wouldn’t have anything to blog about.
I watched the movie yesterday, together with my kids… who all came from the sick bay by the way. So to celebrate their getting well, and a delayed celebration of my birthday, we went to SM Clark to watch the movie. It was a tough choice because both The Forbidden Kingdom and Speed Racer were also playing. I would go for Jacky Chan but I was outvoted - 2 for Iron Man, 1 for Speed Racer and 1 for Forbidden Kingdom. Yes, I do practice democracy with my kids… at least with things like these.
Now, while I may know the superhero Iron Man, I’m not really familiar with his story. His origin, how did he start, why did he become Iron Man, who he is, what he is… all those stuffs. Unlike Superman and Batman, as well as Spiderman and The Hulk, whose origin I am aware of. And while I may not really be an expert on them, at least I know some trivias on them. But Iron Man? Aside from being a flying suited gladiator knight, I know nothing of him.
One good thing about not knowing anything about the story is that you have less or no expectations, and therefore you are saved from dissapointments. Transformers, with all its effects and visual wizardy was a great movie and all, but its storyline threw me out of the window. And I never was able to count the robots in Transformers with hands before!
Okay, back to Iron Man… since I know nothing of him, I just rode with the storyline. So he was Tony Stark, a billionaire born with a silver spoon in his hands actually. But was able to hold the screwdriver as well and prove himself a genius as far as robotics, weaponry and engineering is concerned. That, in spite of his being a happy-go-lucky bastard who can do whatever-he-wishes-whenever-he-wishes character, was able to achieve so much, not even counting all the girls he went to bed with - so the story says.
Then, sudden turn of events made him changed his outlook on his crafts and on his life. And that event actually profelled him into creating the character Iron Man. You don’t really expect me to tell the entire story here, do you? Go watch the movie, it’s worth your every penny anyway. Well, as I was saying, the fun here actually is in the development of the suit that Stark would wear to become Iron Man. All of whom, he did by himself. Of course with highly advanced computers and robotics aiding him… no wonder it took so long for a movie adaptation.
As I have said, that was all the fun part - the development of Iron Man. And aside from the flying stuffs… and the Walls Of Jericho by the way, there is nothing more spectacular in the movie… not even the fight scenes. We all know who will win, it’s just a matter of how. But the conclusion of the movie was nice - because in the end, Tony Stark will always be Tony Stark.
And what prequel am I talking about before? If you watched the movie, you can get a hint that if it won’t be an Iron Man 2, it will be The Avengers Movie. I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who thought about it. With the appearance of Nick Fury in the end, and a personal invitation to Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man for the Avengers Mission, who wouldn’t think about it.
And unless the Justice League movie beat them to it, which is a very remote possibility as of this moment… The Avengers Movie would definitely be a welcome development.
