I always get jealous whenever I see pictures posted on Facebook and other social media, of people who have trekked the Pinatubo trail. It is one of my dream to also trek the volcano that once brought gloom and chaos in our town, Angeles City. I have already discussed this with some of my friends who have been there, or are also planning to go there. Some are even willing take their travel trailers to as far as the slope of the volcano would allow us. They are more than willing to accompany once we get our schedules fixed.

It’s a new year!

2009 is gone, and now 2010 is upon us.

A time for a new beginning. Out with the old, and in with the new. The first days of the year usually is where goals and resolutions are drawn.

But is a goal really necessary? Are resolutions being followed anyway?

Whether they are necessary or not, is really a matter of personal opinion. But they say when you don’t have a goal, you don’t have an aim… therefore you don’t have a focus and wander aimlessly.

Last year, I made some goals at the start of 2009. Some were realistic and some were just based on “wishful thinking.” With a few of them coming true however, is quite a personal achievement for me.

And so I asked myself, “Should I set goals again this year?”

Two weeks ago, I was very much depressed. Because this blog, together with 4 of my other blogs, seemed to be hacked.

They won’t load, but instead would just show blank screen, with the message “Redirecting” to some sites (which I can’t remember) at the status bar below.

I didn’t know what to do. I am close to clueless when it comes to HTMLs and techie matters. I asked my friends who knew technical stuffs, and yet even them can’t find any errors in my blogs’ source codes.

The blogs would even load just fine on some of my friends’ computers, while some would also get the same blank screen.

At some point, I think I was even cursing. Why waste such talents in destroying others’ joy?

While still thinking of what to write, I nonchalantly checked on the page rank of my blogs. ‘Was more frustrated than delighted because none of my blogs improved their ranking and some were even demoted from PR1 and PR0 to n/a!

Trying not to be affected (because honestly, I really don’t know how improve them even if I want to), I remembered that I have some parked domains. Curiosity got the better of me so I checked on their rankings too.

I was surprised to see that all of my idle blogs got PR1!

No, I am not complaining. It just confuses me even more. While here I am working my a** off on my active blogs to improve their status or at least even get them “indexed,” these blogs who were really idle got a better page rank!

I can’t comprehend why these things are happening! We are being slap on the face!

First, a former president filed his candidacy to run for another term in next year’s election when the law clearly states that a president can only serve one term and won’t be allowed to seek re-election.

But by some tweaking and some twitching of the law, he was allowed to run… and our poll body accepted the candidacy!

I thought that was it, but NO!

Now, our incumbent president is seeking to run in next year’s election too and she can’t be accused of violating the constitution. Because while the law prohibits the president from seeking re-election, there’s nothing in it that says a president can’t run for a lower position!

This really baffles me.
