I always get jealous whenever I see pictures posted on Facebook and other social media, of people who have trekked the Pinatubo trail. It is one of my dream to also trek the volcano that once brought gloom and chaos in our town, Angeles City. I have already discussed this with some of my friends who have been there, or are also planning to go there. Some are even willing take their travel trailers to as far as the slope of the volcano would allow us. They are more than willing to accompany once we get our schedules fixed.

It will be a big boost to the cause of the Philippines if the plight of our countrymen could get international exposure. And that is what is expected to happen as apl.de.ap of The Black Eyed Peas heeded the appeal of the Philippines for international aid.
Apl.de.ap or Allan Pineda Lindo pledged immediate assistance to the thousands Filipinos who were displaced when tropical storm Ondoy unleashed its fury over the weekend. Apl also made an appeal to the international community to provide assistance to the victims of the storm.
He said those interested in helping the victims can donate through the Apl Foundation relief fund by logging on to www.jeepneymusic.com.

Last night, my kids and I went to watch a concert here in Angeles City. I was hesitant at first because it was raining, and I was weary of the environment at the concert site, it could get rowdy, I thought.
But I wouldn’t want to miss the opportunity to take my children, who I know will love the show as it will feature the country’s top rock bands to the concert, and it would also make a great bonding time for us. After all, it was a free concert!
At least, that was what it was said to be.
The show was sponsored by Tanduay, which made me think twice actually, but I guess they wouldn’t ask the concert-goers to drink to their product, right? Guess again… not directly, at least.

It’s always nice to hear good news about your former classmates in high school. It always brings a smile on one’s face to know that they are doing good and getting successes left and right.
I’ve heard a lot of my classmates who were doing good, whether here in the Philippines or in other country. But this one definitely tops them all. I have to check and re-read the article to be sure that it was my classmate shaking the hands of US President George W. Bush in picture.
And indeed, it was him!
His name is Giovanni Balingit, who is now an officer in the US Navy. I followed a link in Inquirer that reads “Filipino receives US ‘Spirit of Hope’ award” and I was surprised to see that it was him!

I was doing other thing on the web when my attention was caught by the newsbreak from GMA 7. What was the news about? I knew you guess it by the title of this blog.
The news flash said Governor Ed Panlilio of Pampanga will run for president in the coming 2010 election.
Although I am half-expecting it since he won as governor of Pampanga in the last election, I was still surprised that it really happened.
