The recent hold-up robbery at the UP Diliman campus where a bank teller and his security guard escorts were shot to death, reminds me of the time when I was still a roving teller at a bank. That was way bank in 1992 when I was just starting with the then Far East Bank.

Everyday I ride the armored van to pick-up deposits from clients and bring them to bank for crediting to their account. I was given a bulletproof vest and a helmet then, which I rarely wear because they were heavy and uncomfortable to wear.

PhotobucketHillary Clinton’s pledge of support for Barack Obama drew a lot of reactions from people around the globe, not only to the American populace. Her call for unity among Democrats to rally behind Obama’s bid for presidency finally shelved her own presidential bid for good. Such is an unselfish act. Although not really an American, nor am I in the land of the free, I can’t help but contemplate on these developments and imagine it happening in the Philippine soil.

I never doubted that Pacman will win!” this remark puts a smile on my face when I heard it on the radio. A representative from the palace quoted the state leader as saying so. Yes, I know Pacman is an excellent boxer, but he is still not Superman. He is as vulnerable as any boxer he faces on the ring. And the fact that he is facing a fellow champion doesn’t give him an outright advantage at all. Diaz is not a pre-schooler in professional boxing, so to speak.
