We see a mother giving her son a dozen donuts in a box, and told him to share it to his playmates. The boy then counted all his friends who are busy looking for a place to hide as they were playing hide-and-seek with the boy being the it. As they show his playmates one by one, hearing the boy’s voice on the background… coincidentally, there were twelve of them, including the boy!

Quickly he called all his playmates from hiding and announced that he has donuts to share. When they approached him, the camera showed all eleven donuts gone and just one remaining which was divided into 12 pieces. It seems the boy have consumed all eleven pieces and have left just one piece to share with his friends. Cute… or is it? I say it is an obvious display of greed and selfishness.

These last few weeks I have been active in my blogging. In fact, I think I have blogged like crazy. Trying to maintain five different blogs with different theme for each, actively. Consciously making an effort that not one of these blogs will be left behind. I guess I have even surpassed my projected 5 posts per week.

What I have done may not be that much for more active bloggers, but as far as I’m concern, this is way over my personal expectations. All these because all this time I have been unemployed. Yes! All the while I’ve been without a compensation. As to how we have managed or survived all these times is nothing but miracles. It’s not because I don’t want to work or anything. In fact there were number of times I attempted to get employed, but I was unfortunate that I don’t get hired. Hence the name, The Struggling Blogger.

http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb140/mcroyver/ironman-1.jpg The prequel to what? Well, if you watched the movie you know what I mean. But if you haven’t, let me finish first or else I wouldn’t have anything to blog about.

I watched the movie yesterday, together with my kids… who all came from the sick bay by the way. So to celebrate their getting well, and a delayed celebration of my birthday, we went to SM Clark to watch the movie. It was a tough choice because both The Forbidden Kingdom and Speed Racer were also playing. I would go for Jacky Chan but I was outvoted - 2 for Iron Man, 1 for Speed Racer and 1 for Forbidden Kingdom. Yes, I do practice democracy with my kids… at least with things like these.

Now, while I may know the superhero Iron Man, I’m not really familiar with his story. His origin, how did he start, why did he become Iron Man, who he is, what he is… all those stuffs. Unlike Superman and Batman, as well as Spiderman and The Hulk, whose origin I am aware of. And while I may not really be an expert on them, at least I know some trivias on them. But Iron Man? Aside from being a flying suited gladiator knight, I know nothing of him.

One good thing about not knowing anything about the story is that you have less or no expectations, and therefore you are saved from dissapointments. Transformers, with all its effects and visual wizardy was a great movie and all, but its storyline threw me out of the window. And I never was able to count the robots in Transformers with hands before!

Okay, back to Iron Man… since I know nothing of him, I just rode with the storyline. So he was Tony Stark, a billionaire born with a silver spoon in his hands actually. But was able to hold the screwdriver as well and prove himself a genius as far as robotics, weaponry and engineering is concerned. That, in spite of his being a happy-go-lucky bastard who can do whatever-he-wishes-whenever-he-wishes character, was able to achieve so much, not even counting all the girls he went to bed with - so the story says.

Then, sudden turn of events made him changed his outlook on his crafts and on his life. And that event actually profelled him into creating the character Iron Man. You don’t really expect me to tell the entire story here, do you? Go watch the movie, it’s worth your every penny anyway. Well, as I was saying, the fun here actually is in the development of the suit that Stark would wear to become Iron Man. All of whom, he did by himself. Of course with highly advanced computers and robotics aiding him… no wonder it took so long for a movie adaptation.

As I have said, that was all the fun part - the development of Iron Man. And aside from the flying stuffs… and the Walls Of Jericho by the way, there is nothing more spectacular in the movie… not even the fight scenes. We all know who will win, it’s just a matter of how. But the conclusion of the movie was nice - because in the end, Tony Stark will always be Tony Stark.

And what prequel am I talking about before? If you watched the movie, you can get a hint that if it won’t be an Iron Man 2, it will be The Avengers Movie. I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who thought about it. With the appearance of Nick Fury in the end, and a personal invitation to Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man for the Avengers Mission, who wouldn’t think about it.

And unless the Justice League movie beat them to it, which is a very remote possibility as of this moment… The Avengers Movie would definitely be a welcome development.
