“You can’t get any bigger in this business than to fight Manny Pacquiao right now,” said Josh Clottey, who acknowledges fighting the pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao is more than just the money.

The Pacquiao-Clottey fight will be on March 13, a match that was inked following a fall-out from the negotiation with Mayweather, Jr.

Pacquiao will be putting his WBO welterweight crown against Clottey in their match which will take place at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

It seems to be that there is really no stopping the “pound-for-pound” king star from rising. This time, Manny Pacquiao made the cover of Time Magazine’s Asian Edition. Pacquiao on Time Magazine will be featuring a five-page story on him in the latest issue which will hit the US and global newsstand this weekend.

With the simple dream only of providing a better life for his family through boxing, his humble beginning has elevated to such an international status that he now joins the ranks of boxing legends Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, Sugar Ray Robinson and Mike Tyson who have graced the cover of the said magazine.

He also joins the prestigious bunch of Filipino politicians and personalities, from former President Manuel L. Quezon to actress Chin Chin Gutierrez, who were featured on the cover of Time.

Two days left, and then the much awaited fight - Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton will happen. A fight that took a lot of twists and turns before it came to this day….

– forget that the fight almost didn’t materialize just because of the talks on the fight purse

– forget that Pacquiao showed a different color in handling his contract by giving rights to airtime to ABS-CBN… and that a confused Pacquiao took his words back gave it back to Solar Sports

– forget that many were disgusted, this blogger included, because it appears that either Pacquiao didn’t know what he is doing or he is really after the money

Forget all about that and remember that in his fight on Sunday, May 3 on Las Vegas against Hatton, Pacman is fighting for the Philippines, Pacquiao is fighting for the Filipinos all over the world.

Let us all rally behind him, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao as he become the Best Pound for Pound fighter there is.

At least that’s what the latest news break on Inquirer reports. The dispute on the purse split has been settled and Manny Pacquiao settles for a 50-50 split of the purse. This development officially declares the Pacquiao-Hatton match on! I don’t think there is anything that can stop the Pambansang Kamao from meeting his next opponent - Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton now.

Just this week, the match has been put in jeopardy as Team Pacman is adamant on insisting a 60-40 cut on the split of the purse or they will look for another opponent elsewhere. But the Hatton camp wouldn’t take it sitting down and threatened Pacquiao with a lawsuit should he back out of the match. Apparently, Bob Arum, Pacquiao’s promoter already has a verbal agreement with the Hatton camp for a 50-50 split.
