It was indeed a sad day for the hosts of Eat Bulaga as one their co-host, Francis Magalona passed away yesterday. Needless to say, the news that broke out while the show was just starting definitely affected everyone - hosts, audiences and even those who were watching at home. I was even wandering how they can continue with the program because I can feel their grief even though I was only watching on my TV… I know, cause I felt it too.
But theirs is an industry that always go with the cliche “the show must go on!” And being professionals and all, Eat Bulaga went back to their regular program, making people happy… in spite of the sad news.
Down the latter part of the show, at the jackpot portion of “Itaktak mo!” the contestant got the jackpot prize of P1 million when the roulette wheel stopped at the EB logo which signifies the jackpot prize.
Joey de Leon even kidded “Nagbiro si Kiko!” implying that Francis M had a hand or helped the contestant win P1 M jackpot prize. Perhaps he did… his way of making them feel that he is still, and very much, a part of Eat Bulaga.

Last Thursday, February 19, nobody was able to win the P288 million pot money on the SuperLotto draw. That can only mean that this pot money will grow even bigger for the next draw which will be on Sunday, February 22, 2009.
Passing by a Lotto outlet this morning, I saw a sign which says P304 million guaranteed price! I bet by Sunday, this figure will be bigger - much bigger!
I don’t really bet on Lotto, but to be honest, I am tempted to try my luck. That is a big amount we’re talking there. Fortunately (or unfortunately), I was able to take hold of myself.
No offense to the those who bet on this money game, but I don’t like depending my life on a game of chance. Besides, whenever I do bet on Lotto (yes, I used to bet before), I am expecting so much to win! So much so that I am already planning how to spend the prize… yes, counting the chicks… I know that.
That’s why I opted not to bet anymore.
BUT! That is a big but… if this pot money reached P500 million - well, that’s a different story.
Seriously, I believe that this money will only go to those who deserve it most.

It could have been a very spectacular sight to behold, except that it was dangerous for the dolphins to stay at shallow water. Residents of Pilar, Bataan were treated to this phenomenon today as more than 200 dolphins found their way to Bataan shores.
The Philippine Coast Guard, together with the help of some local fishermen, tried their best to save the dolphins by pushing them back toward deeper waters. It wasn’t an easy task, as the GMA News reported, because the dolphin would swim away but only to return after a while. Some locals who went with their boats to the sea just to take a closer look, didn’t help either.

It was over, before I was even had time to promote my last blog post. A history was made as Barack Obama became the first black president of the United States of America. This victory only proves that America is the land of the free and equal opportunity. And hopefully, this will eventually lead to the crushing of the invisible wall that separates the colors in that country.
Although early on in the campaign, Obama was already the more favored candidate. The role of an underdog did not work well for John McCain, and not his running mate Palin was able to save his cause. America has spoken, Obama won and McCain, accepting his fate, already called his rival and conceded.
Now, America and rest of the world can move on.

“I never doubted that Pacman will win!” this remark puts a smile on my face when I heard it on the radio. A representative from the palace quoted the state leader as saying so. Yes, I know Pacman is an excellent boxer, but he is still not Superman. He is as vulnerable as any boxer he faces on the ring. And the fact that he is facing a fellow champion doesn’t give him an outright advantage at all. Diaz is not a pre-schooler in professional boxing, so to speak.
